Melting Down

It's possible that we are entering the "terrible two's" and I hear the three's are even worse. Today at Little Gym, Barrett had his biggest tantrum to date. We do different activities at Little Gym and when we are done with each we put away any equipment that we used. Today, after the warm-up, we played with hula hoops. When it was time to put the hula hoops away, Barrett melted down. He started crying and screaming "that mine" as I took the hula hoop from him to put away. After about 3 minutes of screaming, I scooped him up and took him out of the class. We sat in the waiting area and had a chat about manners and sharing and all that stuff. He said he was ready to go back in so in we went. It was time for bubbles and balls and of course B goes straight for the footballs (there are 5). Another child came to get one and he melted down again. "That my shootball." Keep in mind, he had the other 4 but wanted to have all of them. WAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! He pulled down his pants in the middle of the mat and continued screaming and crying. I cracked up. I wish I'd had my camera because him in the middle of floor with his pants down screaming was a sight to see. When we got home, he took a 3 hour nap. Perhaps, he was just REALLY tired???? I think it was a combination of tired and getting to that stage of development that I'm dreading.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Barrett to a pumpkin patch in Celina that we'd heard good things about. He absolutely loved it. We didn't time it very well so we got there right about his naptime but since it was outside he did great!! He fell asleep within 2 minutes of getting back in the car.

Most kids don't like to wear sunglasses, hats, etc. Not Barrett. If it's sunny even the slightest bit he'll say "it bright, need sunglasses." He rarely takes them off and usually we end up taking them off so he doesn't have them on in all of our pictures. He wears them in the car too.

He's at that age where we can hardly get him to look at the camera and say cheese.

Feeding goats. He loved it and wasn't scared a bit. He would stick his hand in the fence and say "Goat, goat, goat. Come here. I have some food." Too funny!

He liked when their tongues would tickle his hand.

Two's not enough so let me get another one.

Apparently three isn't enough either, so let's make it four!

Now I'll sit on one. If you've been around Barrett for more than say 30 minutes you have probably seen him sit on something. If he has a ball, balloon, or the like he will sit on it. He thinks it's the funniest thing. Once he got a tiny magnet and said "mom, watch" and sat on it. It's very, very odd but incredibly funny.

We let him pick a pumpkin to bring home which he was thrilled about. He calls it "my punkin" and he put it in his kitchen.

He loves shoes. My shoes, Mark's shoes, other people's shoes. He always wants to try shoes on. It's nice and quiet when he wears my heels on the hardwood. Oh wait....

Bath time! Barrett loves taking a bath. Mark gives him his bath every night. If Mark isn't home, B usually fights with me about his bath and always asks for Daddy.

Katie, Barrett, Sophia. Sophia is another girlfriend but Barrett LOVES Katie. Katie is Diana's niece and she was in town all summer. She lives in California and Barrett gets in his firetruck all the time and informs me that he is going on a trip to see Katie in "forna". He loves her!

Everytime Barrett sees a bike he wants to ride it. He doesn't know yet but my parents got him one for his bday. He will be SO excited!
