Mr. Jay (Mommy's friend) got me this awesome rocking chair when I was born. I have just discovered it and love to sit in it! Thanks Mr. Jay!
Turns out Mommy and Daddy have this awesome cabinet that they never told me about. It's filled with all of these plastic containers that are perfect for me to slide around the floor and play with.

Look at me! I'm such a big boy with my baseball hat. I don't even try to pull it off anymore because I'm so used to that nerdy helmet Mommy makes me wear.

I'm so big! This is my favorite toy. Mommy's laptop. I always try to help her work. Maybe I should try to update the blog for her since she clearly is not good at doing it!

Football is back!

Not college football like you are probably thinking. 37 more days until that kicks off. Barrett's favorite toy! We had to throw the other one away because the threads started coming out. However, a recent trip to Granny's resulted in a new football! It is Barrett's favorite toy and he was so excited about its return from the grave that he went to sleep with it that night. He fussed if we took it so alas, he slept with it. I have recently purchased a secret stash of new footballs in the event that something happens to this one.

Rethinking the whole biter biscuit thing

Those biter biscuits for teething babies should come with the following warning: "Before feeding your child a biter biscuit, be sure to remove all clothing from child, remove the high chair cover if made of cloth and run bath water." Seriously, he had to go straight into the bath and his clothes into Oxyclean and his high chair cover into the washing machine after eating this biscuit.

It starts out so cute and innocent. Look at me gnawing on my biter biscuit.

Master of the Sippy

Barrett has mastered the sippy cup! After extensive research on other BPA free sippy cups we decided on the Gerber one. The Born Free ones leak if turned upside down or on their side. What 8 month old doesn't turn a sippy upside down??? They are also a little heavy for him and he couldn't seem to get the hang of it on his own. The new ones are working very well and this little man chugs his water!

B's Buzz 07.24.2008

What's new with B you ask? So many things! He has 8 teeth...YES...I said 8 - 4 on top, 4 on bottom! It's crazy and his smile is adorable. He is turning into Mr. Independent when it comes to food. More often than not, he gets frustrated with us feeding him and wants to feed himself. However, he obviously cannot use a spoon yet so it turns into a very messy situation. The next batch of food we make will include more finger foods for sure. Currently, he is enjoying beef casserole, salmon, fruity chicken, veggies (peas, broccoli and sweet potato), squash, blueberries and his favorites are Cheerios and baby yogurt.

He crawls everywhere and pulls up on EVERYTHING. If there is nothing to pull up on, he will try to just stand on his own. He can't do it just yet but it won't be long I'm sure.

He hates being confined and often cries when we buckle him in his carseat. He always rolls over when we are changing his diaper or clothes.

He still LOVES taking a bath. He tries to crawl and stand up in the tub which is very slick so it makes for some funny moments. Luckily he hasn't gotten hurt since we are always right there.

He is going for his 9 month checkup next Friday but he is about 20 lbs and 29 inches right now.

Who doesn't love a sweet baby booty? This is a common occurrence when he is getting changed. I told you he hates being confined!

Yay bathtime! Check out my cool submarine!

Check out my neato foam helmet (and that snack on my nose-haha). My mommy is a big fraidy cat and with hardwoods and tile everywhere she makes me wear this helmet alot. I know I look like a nerd, but I'm very thankful to have it because I've fallen over several times and hit my head but my trusty helmet has prevented injury. I didn't even cry!

4th of July!

We went to the Wylie fireworks show at Founder's Park this year. We hadn't gone to see fireworks in several years but figure now that we have a kiddo we should start the tradition again. 4th of July brings back so many fun memories of being a kid. This year we went with Steph's parents, her 3 nephews, the Awes family (neighbors) and the Benavides family (neighbors). We had a great time and all the kids had fun!

Sophia - Our adorable 3 year old neighbor. She is so cute and is the most well-spoken little girl!

Anastasia - Our neighbor that is about 6 weeks older than Barrett. She is beautiful!!

Little Gym

We go to Little Gym every Thursday. It's really cute and Barrett seems to have fun. It's definitely nice to chat with other moms and let Barrett interact with their babies. We sing songs, walk on the beam, hang on the bars, do forward rolls, etc.

Sadie's Birthday!

July 1st was Sadie's birthday. She is our four legged daughter and we got her when she was 3 weeks old. She turned 3 this year. She's still making the adjustment to having a little brother but she's getting there. Here she is on her birthday.

I'm updating the blog for the first time in about a month. Prepare yourselves to see many pictures of Barrett. :) I really have to stop being such a blog slacker. It is so easy to get distracted by everything else going on but I promise I'll try harder.
